Long ass name for a long ass lake. The longest place-name in America.

It does not mean: You fish on your side. I fish on my side. Nobody fish in the middle. But it sounds funny so some translate the Native American name in this way.

Apparently the true translation does mention something about neutrality and fishing….


Call it’s Webster Lake in Massachusetts.

How can I misspell thee? Let me count the ways:

Lake Chaubunagungamaug

Chargoggaggoggmancogmanhoggag ogg

Chargoggagoggmanchoggagogg

Welll…you get the idea
