Daydreaming at work(oh and car stuff)
September 25th 2006 07:32
Obsession has a name, 'twould seem.
The window near my desk at work happens to look out on to a multi-level carpark (exciting, no?) - come 9am and a convertible 350Z with metallic silver paint comes rolling by and parks directly across from the window.. ah, happiness and a $65,000ish pricetag only a few steps away.
Anyway!
Progress continues on the Z - we've started dealing with the rather necessary job of tearing out the interior... so much 70's 'style' and more than a few chipped/torn bits of trim need to come out. Thankfully we already have a new interior lined up for the most part (from beige to red). So no big effort involved in doing a bit of a switch and sorting through it all. Current tools involved are just a few varying sizes of flathead and phillips head screwdrivers and a shifter seems to manage so far.
Unfortunately when taking out the carpet underneath the passenger seat we came across a rather annoying pool of motor oil that we assume may have been there for some time, thanks previous owners! (Eh, no biggy) For anyone doing any project such as this I'd suggest to grab some nice chunky halogen lamps or similar for working at night (car garaged and all, the fluro lights just don't do it).
Have a picture! it involves a blanket that was left in the car, removed rear seats and aforementioned floodlights in empty box form - its not terribly exciting but it gives a chance for a tiny bit more flavour here.
Another day of work tomorrow, hopefully I'll be doing some slightly more interesting things come wednesday on the car and post about them for anyone that cares to see more 70's interior style
