Exercise Won’t Help You Lose Weight

For the average person, no amount of exercise will help you lose weight. Most people are not 19-year-old Olympic athletes. The metabolism of a 40-year-old man won’t burn that food fast enough to allow him to lose weight thru exercise. So unless you are prepared to sweat your way through 8 hours or so exercise everyday, you are not going to lose weight by exercising.


Sometimes you will read tales of people long ago eating much more food than we do. Did you ever wonder if it was true? Did they really have a huge, breakfast followed by a huge lunch and finished off by a huge dinner?

Probably not everyone and probably not every day. One thing to keep in mind is that some of the rich and sweet and fattening foods we try to eat all the time were holiday fare back in the day. Some people ate the huge meals with all these special foods only once per year. Others might have eaten like a horse or a pig four times a year or at most only on Sunday.

Now it may still be that people used to eat more than we did. Again you might ask, how did they get away with it? Were they all fat butterballs who died of heart attacks?

If you look far enough back in history you will see that men use to find what they call Rubenesque women attractive. Plump was pleasing in those days. Also, it used to be thought that a fat man was a prosperous man so fat was not looked down upon as it is today. So yes, some of those people who shoved food into their pie hole non stop did get fat. If you check out the life expectancy hundreds of years ago you will see that not many people lived until 50. Now there were plagues and wars and sometimes the food, air and water were fouled but being fat probably didn’t help them live any longer either.


There is another factor to consider. When is the last time you drew water from a well, milked a cow, rode a horse or beat your clothes to a pulp on stones by the stream in order to wash them? Unless you live on a farm you may never have done any of those things. Almost everything you do is so much easier and less time-consuming than it was hundreds of years ago that you don’t burn a lot of calories every day. Centuries ago, tending fields and gardens and animals might have been an all day affair. And a person would have been walking and moving heavy objects the whole time. Kinda of like if you were to exercise for 8 hours a day, every day….

For most real people in modern times it’s all about the calories. The only way to lose weight is to eat less. The only way to keep the weight off is change your lifestyle. Diets as practiced by many are at best nonsensical. The moment you come off the diet, your weight comes back. If you really want to keep the weight off you must change the way you live forever.

1) There is no minimum daily requirement for refined sugar

2) The only drink you need is water

3) No soda. Not even diet soda

4) No sugar substitutes. Lord only knows what that poison is doing to you



Those are the basics. More veggies is almost always a good thing. Raw fruit is the best desert. Most other things like bread and pasta should be consumed in small, moderate
