Among certain American Indian tribes the feathered sun was a symbol of freedom and power.

Lucy made an elixir of fire flowers from the Valley of the Sun in the Chronicles of Narnia.

In Polish mythology fire flowers are thought to give powers like mind reading. Of course they can only be captured at midnight.
