Free Software, Free Downloads

Free software on the internet is sometimes called freeware. At another level there is shareware. In theory you pay nothing for freeware but you are supposed to donate to the cause on shareware. After all, the developers of shareware need something for their time.

The next level is trial software. Use trial software if you have a one time thing that needs doing, so it doesn’t make any sense to buy the software.... Finding the Free Stuff

Nice art, Michael, something of a cat's cradle effect. I use whatever suits me free, I feel no obligation to pay for what is still in the testing stage.

It does put them ahead of those who want to sell you a non existent product or one of little use, 'caveat emptor" is well and truly necessary on the web.
