Ft Hood Massacre
November 10th 2009 00:34
As near as I can tell 13 people lost their lives for the greater glory of political correctness. Even now national command authorities are deeply more worried that we may offend someones religious sensibilities. They do not seem to be as interested in safeguarding the lives of our soldiers.
Last time I checked we were in a recession with 10.2% unemployment. Surely any random college grad who can't find a job could be counted on to go medical school at government expense and then to feel gratitude rather than outrage over the chance to serve his country in return.
Why was Nidal Malik Hussein in the Army? How did a man who was a known discipline problem get promoted?
Though I have been in the military I have no problem with those who do not want to serve in the military and fight our wars. I do ask that such folks have the intellectual honest to get out of the US Armed Forces and stay out. They don't need you and quite frankly you don't need them.
The biggest problem with Major Hussein's religion is that it hides some real problems that are harder to get at.
For instance, all kinds of people, Christians, atheists, whatever, take advantage of the military's hospitality as long as the education keeps coming and the bills get paid but when it comes time to uphold their end of the bargain, suddenly they forgot what they signed.
The people who should actually be punished for this massacre are those in the chain of command above Major Hussein who failed to treat him like he was any other soldier. When I was in military the idea of promoting some whack job who publicly stated that we all need to die under a suicide bomber would have been unthinkable.
How many lit matches can you drop into the gas tank before something happens. If someone repeatedly says he hates you, especially if he is trained to be in touch with his feelings, maybe you should consider taking him seriously?
