Though the world is crowded with billions of people and every day someone we don't want to know calls us on the phone to try to sell us toe nail clippings and bat guano--still some of us manage to find ourselves without the right person or the right people for some important occasion that looms before us. Never fear. Rent a friend is here!!! In Japan you can rent a friend to take to mandatory fun like that boring company picnic that you could not pay your real friends to go near with a ten foot pole.

This is a great idea. There is a site in the US I've used before RentAFriend.com I don’t have many friends because I work a lot but sometimes I want to go out to a movie or restaurant and I don’t want to go by myself. I'm not interested in dating anyone, or anything more than that. I just want someone to go with me.
