No politician in his right mind would ever tell you the true scale of the national debt. If he did there is a distinct danger that you will tar and feather him and run him out of town on a rail. At the very least you might impeach all our elected officials and try them for treason. After all, they have sold the country out from under us. We are floating on a sea of printed and borrowed cash.
When it was Bernie Madoff who was caught swimming naked we could all make catcalls and point and stare. By swimming naked I mean that the man appeared to be a multi-millionaire but if anyone bothered to check into the Ponzi scheme he was running would have seen he didn't even own his own pants. When and if low tide ever hits in America, you won't need that Airport scanner to see who was swimming naked. We are all living on borrowed and printed cash.
